With evidence pointing to a genetic disposition for these disorders and with no concrete cure in sight the current treatment for these patients depending on the severity of the symptoms is to give them medications that stimulate the central nervous system, antidepressants and a few lifestyle changes that can help them overcome these problems over time. The treatment is not an over the night cure method but can take weeks or months to show any results.

Though the medications are vital the lifestyle changes also aid to a great extent. Some of the medications commonly used are amphetamines to stimulate the central nervous system and antidepressants. Lifestyle changes could be taking scheduled naps (around 2 or 3) during the day. Trying to get a good nights sleep so as to reduce the grogginess in the morning and also to try and stay away from alcohol, affricated beverages and anything that comes in the way of effecting their night time or bedtime routine.
